FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best way to brush my teeth to prevent cavities?

To prevent cavities, brush your teeth twice a day using a fluoride toothpaste with a soft-bristled brush, using gentle circular motions for at least two minutes.

How often should I replace my toothbrush?

You should replace your toothbrush every three to four months, or sooner if the bristles are frayed, to maintain effective cleaning.

Can mouthwash replace brushing or flossing?

No, mouthwash is an adjunct to brushing and flossing, not a replacement; it can help reduce bacteria and freshen breath but cannot remove plaque as effectively as brushing and flossing.

Is chewing gum good for my dental hygiene?

Chewing sugar-free gum can be beneficial after meals as it helps stimulate saliva production, which neutralizes acid and helps clean the mouth, but it should not replace brushing and flossing.

What are the signs that I might have gum disease?

Signs of gum disease include red, swollen, or bleeding gums, persistent bad breath, and loose teeth; if you experience any of these symptoms, you should visit a dentist promptly.
